Dr. Robert Sabat is head of the Psoriasis Research and Treatment Center and Molecular Immunopathology at the University Hospital Charité in Berlin, Germany. In 1995, he graduated from Humboldt University in Berlin and completed his medical internship and residency at the Institute for Medical Immunology, University Hospital Charité. In 1999, he went to Schering Inc. to work as a dermatology research group head for three years where he directed projects about the molecular mechanisms underlying the immunosuppressive effects of interleukin-10 and about novel cytokines. His main research interests lie in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases and the functions of novel cytokines.
