Dr. Mark Lebwohl is the dean for clinical therapeutics, professor, and chairman emeritus of the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia College and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Lebwohl served as President of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) from 2015–2016 and is past Chair of the AAD Psoriasis Task Force. He has directed numerous AAD symposia, including the annual Psoriasis Symposium, and served in leadership roles for both the AAD Annual and Summer Meetings. He is also Chairman Emeritus of the Medical Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation. Dr. Lebwohl is the founding editor of Psoriasis Forum (now The Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis) and SKIN: The Journal of Cutaneous Medicine. He has served on the editorial boards of several leading dermatology journals, including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and The Journal of Skin Cancer. He was the Dermatology Section Editor for Scientific American Medicine. He is the author or editor of several textbooks, including Treatment of Skin Disease, now in its sixth edition and translated into multiple languages.

An active clinical investigator, Dr. Lebwohl has participated in numerous trials for emerging dermatologic therapies and has authored or co-authored more than 800 publications. He is the recipient of numerous honors, including the National Psoriasis Foundation’s (NPF) first Lifetime Achievement Award, the AAD’s Gold Medal, and the American Skin Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2023, Newsweek recognized Dr. Lebwohl as the top medical dermatologist in the United States.
