Getting to Know IPC’s Board Member André Carvalho: What Inspired Me to Specialize in Psoriasis

Bio
  • Dr. André Carvalho is responsible for the Psoriasis Ambulatory and is a researcher and teacher at the Hospital Moinhos de Vento Complexo in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
  • He is also a teacher at the Rheumatology residency program at the same hospital, and a dermatology teacher at the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos Medical School. 
  • His primary areas of interest are psoriasis, immunodermatology, systematic review and meta-analysis.
  • Dr. Carvalho was appointed to the IPC Board of Directors in 2024 and became an IPC Councilor in 2013. He is the Chair of IPC’s Latin America Working Group and Membership Committee.
