Dr. André Vicente Esteves de Carvalho is the head of Dermatology, responsible for the Psoriasis Ambulatory and a researcher at the Hospital Moinhos de Vento Complexo in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He is also a teacher at the Rheumatology residency program at the same hospital and a dermatology teacher at the Hospital Moinhos de Vento Medical School. He was the coordinator of the Psoriasis Department of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology from 2021 to 2022 (SBD). Dr. Carvalho is a dermatology specialist certified by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology. He completed specialization courses in Dermatologic Surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery at the Dermatology School at Yale School of Medicine (2001) and has a master’s degree in pathology from the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre. In 2016, he received his PhD in pathology from the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre. The title of his thesis is “Eficácia das Medicações Imunobiológicas e Inibidores de Pequenas Moléculas na Psoriase: Uma Revisão Sistemática e Metanálise de Ensaios Clínicos Randomizados” (“Efficacy of Immunobiologic and Small Molecule Inhibitors Drugs for Psoriasis: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials”). He is the scientific reviewer for the Brazilian 2nd Edition of Dermatology, by Bolognia, Jorizzo, and Rappini, the Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, and several other peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Carvalho is currently the vice-president of SOLAPSO DI+ (Sociedade Latinoamericana de Psoríase e Doenças Imunomediadas) and a regional coordinator for the Global Psoriasis Atlas
