Professor David Burden graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1987. His doctoral thesis in 1997 concerned genetic susceptibility to psoriasis vulgaris. He was appointed Consultant Dermatologist in Glasgow in 1999 and Professor of Dermatology at the University of Glasgow in 2010. He has a longstanding clinical and research interest in psoriasis, including genetic susceptibility, immunopathogenesis, new treatments, and clinical guidelines. He co-authors the chapter on psoriasis in Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology. Over the past ten years, his research has increasingly focused on pustular psoriasis.
