Dr. Steven Fakharzadeh graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Biology and American History and earned his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the faculty there in 1996. Dr. Fakharzadeh later joined Johnson & Johnson (J&J) in 2008, where he first led United States Medical Affairs and then Global Medical Affairs for Dermatology. Over the course of his 17.5-year career at J&J, he contributed to several programs for novel therapeutics for psoriasis, including ustekinumab, guselkumab, and icotrokinra, as well as several programs for assets in other indications. Dr. Fakharzadeh retired from J&J in 2026 and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he continues to teach and see patients with hereditary skin conditions. In addition, he remains active in advancing treatment goals for psoriasis as a member of the Medical Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) and an IPC Councilor.
