Dr. Leandro Leite is a dermatologist with a special interest in psoriasis and immune-mediated skin diseases. After completing his dermatology residency in 2017, he served as the head of the public care clinic for psoriasis patients at Hospital São Lucas, part of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, until 2023. Since then, he has been working at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, one of the largest public hospitals in the country. He also works at a private psoriasis clinic at Hospital Moinhos de Vento. Dr. Leite completed his Masters in Medical Sciences in 2019 and was one of the authors and researchers behind the Brazilian Ministry of Health’s Clinical Guideline on Psoriasis (Protocol of Guidelines and Treatment of Psoriasis), which resulted in the inclusion of biologics for severe psoriasis in the Brazilian Unified Health System and, subsequently, in the list of medications provided by health insurance companies. His clinical interests focus on managing patients with complex cases of autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases, and he has a scientific interest in systemic comorbidities related to psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases. Dr Leite completed his IPC International Fellowship in 2022 under the mentorship of IPC Board Member Catherine Smith at her clinic at St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London, United Kingdom.
