IPC Appoints New President for 2023

Bachelez - New President Announcement

The IPC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has named Hervé Bachelez, MD, PhD, as its newly appointed President, effective January 1, 2023. Prof. Bachelez joined the IPC as a Councilor in 2009, was appointed to the Board in 2010, and has served as IPC’s Vice-President and Secretary. With over 20 years of clinical and research experience, he brings a wealth of leadership skills and a passion for positive change within the psoriasis community. We are excited to have Prof. Bachelez lead us in our efforts to define the relevant issues in psoriasis and work collaboratively with our councilors and industry partners to improve the care for those with psoriasis around the globe.

New Take Tens on Psoriatic Arthritis

IPC Councilor Anna Lopez Ferrer, MD, PhD, reviews PURE-4, a four-item tool that helps dermatologists screen psoriasis patients for psoriatic arthritis (PsA) risk. She traces its evolution across three studies (2018–2026) into a validated predictor of early PsA.

IPC Councilor André Lucas Ribeiro, MD, reframes PsA as a slow transition from psoriasis, not a sudden event, opening the door to disease interception. He outlines the steps needed to get there, from harmonizing definitions to reducing inflammatory burden.
