Professor Mohammad Samiul Huq is the Founder and President of the Psoriasis Awareness Club, Bangladesh, a nonprofit organization bringing together patients, dermatologists, and community leaders to advance psoriasis care and awareness. He holds a Diploma in Dermatological Science and a Master’s in Dermatology from the College of Medicine, University of Wales (Cardiff, United Kingdom). He also has a Master’s in Public Health from North South University in Bangladesh.

Professor Huq has contributed to numerous national and international publications. Under his leadership, the Psoriasis Awareness Club achieved full affiliation with the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations (IFPA) and the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS). He currently serves as Country Representative for the Skin Inflammation and Psoriasis International Network (SPIN) and is the Chief Coordinator of the Psoriasis Guideline Committee in Bangladesh.

A dedicated advocate for improving patient outcomes, Professor Huq oversaw the development of Bangladesh’s first one-stop psoriasis treatment and research center, as well as the launch of the Psoriasis Skill Development Program for primary care providers and an e-mobile consultation service for community clinics.

n recognition of his contributions, he received the ILDS Certificate of Appreciation in Humanitarian Dermatology (2024). He is currently leading the country’s first nationwide study on psoriasis prevalence. His primary focus is improving the quality of life for individuals with psoriasis.
