Dr. George Han is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he serves as the Director of Clinical Trials and Teledermatology. Dr. Han is the current President of the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York, a member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, an associate of the International Eczema Council (IEC), and a member of the Medical Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF). Before joining Northwell, Dr. Han served as Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and System Medical Director for Dermatology and Chief of Teledermatology at the Mount Sinai Health System. He remains active in both basic science research and clinical trials, serving as Principal Investigator and International Coordinating Investigator for numerous studies encompassing clinical areas such as Psoriasis, Atopic Dermatitis, Vitiligo, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, and Actinic Keratosis. Dr. Han has over 80 peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, the British Journal of Dermatology, Clinical Immunology, the Journal of Infectious Diseases, and the American Journal of Pathology, as well as numerous book chapters and patents. He is on the editorial board of several prominent dermatology journals.

Areas of Interest

Telemedicine, translational research on the role of neutrophils in psoriasis, racial and ethnic disparities in psoriasis treatment, using technology and AI to allow for decentralized clinical trials to increase enrollment in underrepresented minorities, and comorbidities.

New Take Tens on Psoriatic Arthritis

IPC Councilor Anna Lopez Ferrer, MD, PhD, reviews PURE-4, a four-item tool that helps dermatologists screen psoriasis patients for psoriatic arthritis (PsA) risk. She traces its evolution across three studies (2018–2026) into a validated predictor of early PsA.
