Dr. Fernando Valenzuela is currently a Full-time Professor of Dermatology at the University of Chile and the University of the Andes in Santiago, Chile. He has received multiple awards from his medical school days and works closely with Dr. Kim Papp in Probity Medical Research doing clinical trials. He is highly regarded by his colleagues in Latin America and attends all SOLAPSO and RADLA meetings, where he is frequently featured as a main speaker. He has been working and publishing about new agents in psoriasis, quality of life, and comorbidities. He is the Chilean Coordinator of Global Psoriasis Atlas, the President of 2022 RADLA, and the Head of the Department of Dermatology at the University of Chile. He is active in the IPC Latin America working group and has been an IPC Councilor since 2015.

New Take Tens on Psoriatic Arthritis

IPC Councilor Anna Lopez Ferrer, MD, PhD, reviews PURE-4, a four-item tool that helps dermatologists screen psoriasis patients for psoriatic arthritis (PsA) risk. She traces its evolution across three studies (2018–2026) into a validated predictor of early PsA.

IPC Councilor André Lucas Ribeiro, MD, reframes PsA as a slow transition from psoriasis, not a sudden event, opening the door to disease interception. He outlines the steps needed to get there, from harmonizing definitions to reducing inflammatory burden.
