Dr. Pravit Asawanonda is a Professor of Dermatology at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He also practices dermatology at Bumrungrad International Hospital since 1998. His current administrative position is Assistant Vice President of his University. He also served as Associate Dean for Planning and Development at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, between 2011-2015. Within the Dermatological Society of Thailand, he now serves as the current President.

Dr. Asawanonda attended Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, receiving his MD in 1988 and a Master of Science in Dermatology in 1990. He completed a clinical fellowship in Photobiology with the Division of Dermatology at Ramathibodi Hospital, Thailand, before heading to Boston for further training. In Boston, Dr. Asawanonda attained a clinical fellowship in Phototherapy and Lasers from Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He also completed a research program with Boston University, culminating in receiving a Doctor of Science in Dermatology in 1998.

Dr. Asawanonda is a certified dermatologist by the Thai Board of Dermatology. His main interests are psoriasis, vitiligo, phototherapy, and, most recently, biologics. He currently serves as a member of several professional bodies in Thailand. He is also an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He was appointed a director of the Asian Society for Psoriasis. In 2022, he joins the International Psoriasis Council as a Councilor.

Dr. Asawanonda has presented at many medical meetings and seminars regionally and internationally. He has published and has been a reviewer for several dermatological journals over the past 20 years.
