Professor Phyllis Spuls is a dermatologist at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC, The Netherlands. She is a professor of evidence-based dermatology. She specializes in patients with severe psoriasis and atopic eczema.

In her research, Prof. Spuls works on the evaluation of treatments through randomized control trials, observational studies, and systematic reviews. She is the PI of the TREAT registry Taskforce and leads the TREAT NL registry. She contributes to national and international guidelines and consensus statements and the development of shared decision-making tools.

Prof. Spuls has been involved in core outcome set development in dermatology for ten years. She has been involved in the HOME initiative from the start for the development of a COS for atopic eczema. She is on the executive board of the CHORD COUSIN Collaboration, an international collaboration for COS development in dermatology. She is the President of the Skin Inflammation and Psoriasis International Network (SPIN).
