Dr. Nicholas Brownstone is the chief dermatology resident in the Department of Dermatology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Previously, Dr. Brownstone completed a two-year clinical and research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Dermatology in the Psoriasis and Skin Treatment Center under the mentorship of IPC Councilor Dr. Wilson Liao. Dr. Brownstone was the sub-investigator on over 15 clinical trials on inflammatory skin disease at UCSF and continues to help conduct clinical trials. He is the lead editor of “Biologic Therapy for Psoriasis: Cutting Edge Treatment Principles” and “Clinical Cases in Atopic Dermatitis” and has contributed to over 150 research papers. Dr. Brownstone is also the host of “Cutaneous Miscellaneous,” an educational podcast for dermatology residents. Dr. Brownstone is the co-creator of the “Koo-Brownstone Staging System,” which is the first and only staging system for patients who present with dermatological delusions. He has been recognized with the “Rising Derm Star” award. He has a wide range of interests in medical and aesthetic dermatology, with a particular focus on personalized medicine, comorbidities, psychological impact, biologic therapy, and clinical trials.
Dr. Brownstone studied with IPC Councilor Álvaro González-Cantero at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid, Spain.
