Dr. Murlidhar Rajagopalan is a senior consultant and Head of the Department of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, India. Additionally, he serves as Senior Consultant in Pediatric Dermatology at Apollo Children’s Hospital. He completed an MBBS from JIPMER Madras University in 1985 and an MD in Dermatology from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1989. Dr Rajagopalan is an academic editor for Dermatologic Therapy. He reviews articles for 12 indexed journals. He has authored several chapters in books and edited three on immunodermatology, his core interest. Apart from psoriasis, he has core interests in atopic eczema and immunobullous diseases too. He is currently the board member director of The International Soceity of Atopic Dermatitis. He has authored or coauthored eight clinical practice guidelines on various topics. He joined the IPC as a councilor in 2006 and served on the IPC education committee. He has been involved in conducting and organizing masterclasses in psoriasis and starting the psoriasis fellowship of the IPC for which he is now the co mentor. He has been actively educating dermatologists around India on newer aspects of Dermatology.
