Professor Lars Iversen has been an IPC Councilor since 2009 and a Board Member of the IPC since 2017. He is a Professor in Dermatology at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, where he also teaches dermato-venereology. He received his clinical education and obtained a doctoral degree from the same university. Professor Iversen’s main research interests are psoriasis and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Most of his research activities are related to signal transduction and immunology. Professor Iversen has served as a guest researcher and speaker at international conferences in Asia, Europe, and the United States. He is the author or co-author of 240 articles and book chapters and the holder of two patents. He has served as a section editor for Acta Dermato-Venereologica and the Editorial Board of Experimental Dermatology. His writings have appeared in several scientific journals, including Nature Immunology, Nature Communications, PNAS, EMBO Journal, and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. In 2019, Professor Iversen was the National Center for Autoimmune Diseases founder at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. He served as President of the Danish Dermatological Society and is a previous Board member of the Nordic Dermatological Association. Furthermore, he is a member of ESDR, EADV, and AAD.

Psoriasis: An Expert Global Perspective Is Now Available for Pre-Order

IPC Board Member and Treasurer Joel Gelfand, MD, MSCE, is the editor of a new textbook, Psoriasis: An Expert Global Perspective, now available for preorder from Elsevier. He worked with associate editors IPC President Bruce Strober, MD, PhD; IPC Vice President/President-Elect Claudia de la Cruz, MD; and IPC Chief Medical Officer Peter van de Kerkhof, MD, PhD. Nearly 50 authors from 20 countries contributed 30 chapters covering psoriasis from its earliest descriptions through genetics, immunology, and current therapies, with clinical images of psoriasis across diverse skin tones. New Video Resource: Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA)

In this video, IPC Councilor Rodrigo Garcia Salinas, MD, a rheumatologist from Argentina, explains how to recognize psoriatic arthritis early, including why joint pain, how long a patient has had psoriasis, and family history can matter more than skin severity alone. He also reviews how imaging helps catch early disease and how to choose treatment based on each patient’s joint, spine, and skin involvement.
