Dr. Gerald G. Krueger was born and raised in a ranching community in North Dakota, United States. Following a BA degree in chemistry from Union College, Dr. Krueger obtained his MD degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1966. After an internship in the military and a residency at the University of Colorado, Dr. Krueger was recruited to the University of Utah where he started the Division of Dermatology, later to become the Department of Dermatology. He served as the chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation (1993 to 2003) and currently serves as a Councilor to the International Psoriasis Council. Dr. Krueger was an organizer and officer of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) for over ten years. He has also been the principal investigator on over 100 clinical trials on psoriasis over the past 35 years and has done basic research on psoriasis with the support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over 25 years. Dr. Krueger has published over 250 papers in medical literature. His basic research has ranged from gene therapy, to his current focus, understanding the relationship of genotype to phenotype using psoriasis as a model disease via the Utah Psoriasis Initiative (UPI).
