IPC Welcomes New Councilors Michael Garshick and Andre Ribeiro

Two New Councilors Bring Distinct Perspectives on Psoriatic Disease

The International Psoriasis Council (IPC) welcomes two new Councilors whose work reflects the evolving understanding of psoriatic disease, its systemic impact, and the importance of multidisciplinary, globally informed care.

Michael Garshick and André Ribeiro join IPC’s Council, bringing complementary expertise in cardiovascular comorbidities, psoriatic arthritis, and international clinical education, areas that are increasingly central to improving long-term outcomes for people living with psoriasis.

Michael Garshick, MD

NYU Langone Health

New York, New York, United States

Bio
Dr. Garshick brings a cardiology lens to IPC’s work, focusing on the elevated cardiovascular risk associated with psoriasis and other immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. As a cardiologist with appointments in both medicine and dermatology at NYU Langone Health, his research examines inflammatory mechanisms such as platelet activation and endothelial dysfunction, and he leads an integrated cardio-rheumatology program dedicated to reducing cardiovascular risk in patients with chronic systemic inflammation.

André Lucas Ribeiro, MD

Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre, Brazil

Bio
Dr. Ribeiro adds an international and systems-focused perspective, with clinical and research experience spanning Brazil, the United States, and Canada. His work centers on psoriatic arthritis, access to care, and multidisciplinary disease management, and he currently serves as President of Young-GRAPPA (2024–2026), reflecting his commitment to global education and the next generation of clinician leaders.

Strengthening IPC’s Global Perspective

Together, these new Councilors broaden IPC’s expertise across key dimensions of psoriatic disease, supporting the organization’s mission to improve patient outcomes and equip healthcare professionals worldwide with evidence-based, patient-centered guidance.
