Professor Dimitrios Ioannides concluded his residency in Dermatology – Venereology at the Department of Dermatology – Venereology of the Aristotle University Medical School in Thessaloniki, Greece. Afterward, he received a Fogarty Scholarship from the National Institute of Health to conclude a Fellowship in immuno-dermatology at the Dermatology Department of the New York University (NYU) Medical School, where he stayed for one and a half years. Since 2009, Professor Ioannides has been Professor and Head of the First University Department of Dermatology – Venereology at the Hospital for Skin and Venereal Diseases in Thessaloniki. He is a member of 13 International and five Hellenic Medical Societies and has served as a Board and Committee member and chairman. Professor Ioannides was Treasurer of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) for four years, is a member of the Editorial Board of five journals, author of more than 400 publications and presentations, co-editor in six books, and author or co-author of 12 chapters in various texts. He has participated in more than 30 clinical trials on psoriasis and is a member of the European Dermatology Forum (EDF) Guideline Committee for preparing Guidelines on various inflammatory diseases. He is also an Honorary Member of the Société Française de Dermatologie, North American Clinical Dermatologic Society, and Cyprus Society of Dermatology and Venereology.
