Professor Paul van der Nat is the Program Manager Value-Based Healthcare at St. Antonius Hospital. He also serves as the Research Development Manager at Santeon and is a Professor Value-Based Healthcare at IQ Healthcare (Radboud University Medical Centre). Since 2013, Paul has been actively involved in implementing and researching Value-Based Healthcare at the local, national, and international levels. He co-founded Meetbaar Beter and served as its manager from 2013 to 2017 before it merged with the Netherlands Heart Registry.

Professor van der Nat’s current research is centered on the condition-based organization of hospitals, the change management necessary for implementing value-based health care, and patient participation within multidisciplinary value improvement teams. He was appointed as a professor in 2022 and delivered his inaugural lecture, titled “From Amazement to Improvement,” in September 2023.

Prior to his current position, Professor van der Nat worked as a strategy consultant at The Decision Group from 2008 to 2011. He holds a PhD in High-Energy Physics, which he earned for his work at the National Institute for Subatomic Physics (NIKHEF, Amsterdam).
