Dr. Marwa Amer is an associate professor of Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Kasr Al-Ainy, one of the most prestigious medical research centers and tertiary care hospitals in the Middle East. She received MSc and MD degrees from Cairo University, where her theses were related to molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Psoriasis is her area of interest, and she is one of the co-founders of Kasr AL-Ainy Psoriasis Unit (KAPU), which currently serves almost 5,200 psoriasis patients. Her passion is to improve the quality of life of psoriasis patients through patient education programs, continuous research projects, and providing continuous education for young dermatologists. She has participated in several awareness campaigns to improve patients’ knowledge about psoriasis. Dr. Amer is a frequent lecturer at national, regional, and international conferences. She is also an active member of the dermoscopy unit and a former member of the dermatopathology and laser units at Cairo University.
