Dr. Maria Alejandra Rodriguez de Segura is an internal medicine and dermatologist from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She was responsible for the Psoriasis Unit and Biologic Therapies at the Unidad Nacional de Dermatología y Alergias of the Instituto Venezolano de los Seguros Sociales (2003¬–2017). Currently, she is a professor of Medical Dermatology at the Department of Medicine in Hospital “Dr. Domingo Luciani,” IVSS, Caracas, Venezuela.

Since 2003, Dr. Rodriguez’s focus has been working for psoriasis in her country. She was co-author of the I Consenso Nacional de Psoriasis, Venezuela (2009) and the I Consenso Multidisciplinario para el uso de Agentes Biológicos en Venezuela (2011). She has participated at numerous national and international advisory boards and conferences. Dr. Rodriguez is member of Colegio IberoAmericano de Dermatología (CILAD) and Latin American Psoriasis Society (SOLAPSO). Dr. Rodriguez is the immediate past president of Sociedad Venezolana de Dermatología, Medica, Quirúrgica y Estética.
