Dr. Manuel Dario Franco was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in April 1979 and completed his medical training at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2002. He worked as a general physician until 2007, when he started his dermatology residency at El Bosque University in Bogotá, completing it in 2010. From the outset of his career, Dr. Franco has been deeply interested in psoriasis and immune-mediated skin diseases. He is an active member of several prominent dermatology organizations, including the Colombian Association of Dermatology (ASOCOLDERMA), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) as an International Fellow, and the Ibero-American College of Dermatology (CILAD). Dr. Franco is vice president of the Colombian Group of Psoriasis and Immune-Mediated Diseases (COLPSOR). He has been a member of the Latin American Society of Psoriasis (SOLAPSO), where he held the position of general secretary until recently. Dr. Franco has contributed to various scientific activities, including serving on the scientific committee for events such as the 3rd Congress of SOLAPSO and the XXXV Annual Reunion of Latin American Dermatologists (RADLA). He is also the president-elect for the 2027 RADLA Annual Meeting. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in national and international dermatology journals. Notably, in 2022, he contributed as one of the 2022 Colombian Guidelines for Psoriasis editors. Dr. Franco practices in his private clinic and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team that focuses on managing psoriasis patients. This group has published research on the results of strict follow-up care for these patients.
