Dr. Luigi Naldi earned a diploma in Classical Studies and a degree in Industrial Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan before transitioning to medicine. He graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Pavia in 1981.

From 1984 to 1986, he worked as a junior investigator at the Laboratory of Clinical Pharmacology at the Mario Negri Institute in Milan. In 1988, he moved into clinical practice at the Department of Dermatology, University of Milan, based at Bergamo General Hospital. He qualified as a Full Professor of Dermatology in 2013.

From 2017 to 2024, he held the position of Director of the Department of Dermatology at the General Hospital of Vicenza. He is currently a consultant at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.

Dr. Naldi has always regarded the clinical setting as the natural laboratory for clinical research. He is a co-founder of the European Dermatoepidemiology Network (EDEN). From 2003 to 2024, he served as Director of Centro Studi GISED, an independent research centre dedicated to promoting integrated clinical research programs in Dermatology.

The main research area is in clinical epidemiology of major skin disorders and in the evaluation of complex interventions and educational programs at the population level.
