Elfie Deprez is a PhD candidate and Nurse Specialist in the Department of Dermatology at Ghent University Hospital. Holding a master’s degree in nursing, she transitioned from being a Dermatology Head Nurse to pursuing her PhD in 2019. With a decade of clinical experience in psoriasis, she is expanding her expertise to other inflammatory skin diseases, such as Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Her research focuses on value-based healthcare in psoriasis, including defining a Value Outcome Set, establishing an Integrated Practice Unit, and emphasizing the role of nurses in psoriasis care. Elfie’s expertise focuses on qualitative research and co-design, but she also has experience in systematic reviews and Delphi consensus studies. She has a keen interest in self-management, patient participation, and shared decision-making. Additionally, she serves on the Belgian Dermatology Nurses Association Board, co-chairs the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) Task Force ‘Nurses in Dermatology,’ and is an Editorial Advisory Board Member for JEADV and Dermatological Nursing.
