Dr. Carle Paul is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France. The Department has inpatient and outpatient clinics, a clinical research center (phases 1-4), and teaching facilities. From 1998-2005, he worked in pharmaceutical research in Switzerland, while maintaining a clinical appointment at the Department of Dermatology in Mulhouse, France. During this period, Professor Paul worked on the development of dermatological drugs, mainly for psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and fungal skin diseases. He contributed to the development of oral and topical calcineurin inhibitors for inflammatory skin diseases and allylamine antifungal agents. He was a Board member of EADV from 2007-2012 and Secretary General from 2012 – 2016. Professor Paul is currently President of the EADV (2018–2020). He is co-inventor of eight patents and author of >350 peer-reviewed publications. His areas of research interest are inflammatory skin diseases, pharmacology, and drug development.
