Professor Carle Paul has served as Professor of Medicine at the University and Hospitals of Toulouse, France, since 2006. Before his academic appointment, he spent eight years in global pharmaceutical research and development, holding several leadership roles.

Professor Paul is a co-inventor of eight patents and author of 500+ peer-reviewed publications. His areas of interest are inflammatory skin diseases, pharmacology, and clinical drug development, and he has contributed to the development of several topical and systemic agents in Dermatology (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, hidradenitis suppurativa). Professor Paul served as Secretary General (2012–2016) and President (2018–2020) of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) and currently holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
