Jan Bos

Dr. Willem Jan Bos studied medicine at the University of Groningen. During his studies, he spent 1.5 years at the University of Utah under the supervision of Willem Kolff, the inventor of hemodialysis. Dr. Bos specialized in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Erasmus Medical Center (Rotterdam) and Academic Medical Center (Amsterdam). In 1995, he defended his thesis, “Measurement of Finger and Brachial Artery Pressure,” with cum laude honors at the University of Amsterdam.

Since 2000, Dr. Bos has worked at St. Antonius Hospital. Alongside his clinical work, he has actively participated in education, administrative duties, and research in nephrology, hypertension, and pneumonia.

Nationally, Dr. Bos is one of the co-chairs of the Linnean Initiative, where patients, physicians, and administrators collaborate to facilitate the use of care outcomes in medical practice. He also chairs the Chronic Kidney Disease Working Group of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement.
