Dr. Georg Stingl received his residency training in dermatovenerology at the Medical School of Vienna’s University. After working as a postdoctoral fellow and, later, as a guest scientist at the US National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, he became a Staff Physician/Scientist at the Department of Dermatology in Innsbruck and, later, in Vienna. In 1992, he was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Division of Immunology, Allergy, and Infectious Diseases and, in 2016, of the entire Department of Dermatology of Vienna’s Medical University. He holds numerous honorary memberships in several national and international dermatological (including the IPC) and immunological societies and is a member of the Austrian and German Academy of Sciences as well as the US National Academy of Medicine. He has published more than 400 scientific manuscripts in the fields of clinical and investigative dermatology with a particular focus on immunodermatology and allergology as well as clinical, cellular, and molecular immunology.
