Dr. Margarita Velasquez is a Professor and Head of the dermatology department at the University of Antioquia, a dermatologist, and has her PhD in immunology. Dr. Velasquez is an active member of the Colombian Association of Dermatology (ASOCOLDERMA), an editor of the Magazine of the Colombian Association of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, and a member of the Colombian Group of Psoriasis and immunodermatology, COLPSOR. She is a member of the Latin American Group of Cutaneous Lymphomas and a coordinator of the CIDERM Dermatological Research Center. Her special interests are in patient care, teaching, and research in immunodermatology. Dr. Velasquez has over 90 publications in immunodermatology, psoriasis, cutaneous lymphoma, hidradenitis, urticaria, and primary immunodeficiencies. She co-authors the evidence-based Colombian guidelines for managing psoriasis in Colombia.
